Leatheroid paper is also known as Elephantide, this material is grey/blue in colour, manufactured in continuous rolls and comes in a wide range of thicknesses from 0.1mm to 1mm. Leatheroid has excellent insulation properties and is used extensively in the electrical industry to insulate hot elements such as contact terminals. All of the above can be manufactured in either plain or self-adhesive backed, peel-able liner on one or both sides. Elephantide can be supplied bonded which gives a greatly increased bursting strength and also increases its electrical strength to around 12kv per millimetre. This product is suited to industrial and domestic electrical appliances and is often used as a insulator in transformers and motors.
