Conductive Polyethylene Foam
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd supply and manufacture a diverse range of Conductive Polyethylene Foam products.
This closed cell, cross-linked Polyethylene is made using a black carbon products which gives it its conductive properties making it suitable for packaging and transporting delicate electronics by dissipating build ups of static charge. Static Electricity is caused by transfer of electrons during the sliding/rubbing of a material, this generated electrostatic voltages (ESD –Electrostatic Discharge). When coming into contact with a person or microcircuit, this can generate a spark causing electronic parts to be destroyed or damaged. Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd are able to manufacture a wide variety of products from Conductive Polyethylene foam including:
All of the above can be manufactured in either plain or self-adhesive backed, peel-able liner on one or both sides. Conductive Polyethylene foam has excellent mechanical properties such as its working temperature range and closed cell structure making it a great product to use for mechanical and electrical protection, ESD Box lining, custom packaging and insulation.
Key Characteristics of Conductive Polyethylene foam:
- Temperature Range: -70ºc – +95ºC (-70ºC – 105ºC 50Kg/m3 only)
- Resistance to water
- Resistance to solvents
- Closed cell structure inhibits the growth of mold and bacteria.
- Shock absorbing
- Easy to cut
