BS2752 Solid Rubber Seals

BS2752 Solid Rubber Seals

BS2752 Solid Rubber Seals

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd supply and manufacture many seals in the form of washers, gaskets, strips, O rings, cord and extrusions made into bespoke profiles, all designed to prevent leakage or ingress of air, fluid or gas.

All our BS2752 seals are made to order and are based on dimensions, samples or drawings provided by customers to ensure the final product perfectly fits the application.

As each form of seal needs to be manufactured using a different process, ASG has invested heavily in various machinery meaning we can produce both high and low volume seals in virtually any shape or size.

What are BS2752 Rubber Seals?

BS2752 is a Neoprene (or polychloroprene/CR) synthetic material, which is manufactured to a higher specification to standard grades of neoprene and complying with the British Standard 2752, and offers higher tensile strength and resistance to temperature, available in a range of hardnesses from 40°- 80° shore.

BS2752 seals are a device or substrate that is used to join surfaces together to either, acting as a separator or a body to prevent liquids, solids or gases from escaping or penetrating the application.

BS2752 seals can take the form of cut gaskets, strips, washers, extruded profiles and cord, which under compression, ‘hardens’ the material to create a secure seal. Many of our neoprene seals can be supplied with a choice of self-adhesives which assists with the placement of the seal and holding it in position.

    Why use BS2752 Rubber Seals?

There are countless forms and profiles of Neoprene BS2752 rubber seals, but as they’re all produced using the exact same material, they will still all possess the same mechanical properties making it a popular choice across many industries in countless applications, including where there may be exposure to the ozone,  seawater, mineral oils, fuel, grease and dilute acids or alkalis.

S2752 has a wide working temperature range of -30°C to +110℃ and is a strong material with excellent abrasion, tensile strength and elongation at break properties, often found used within electrical insulations, engineering applications, window sealing, anti-vibration and cable protection, to name a few.

    Advantages of Using BS2752 Rubber

Neoprene BS2752 rubber seals are very popular amongst a range of industries due to the number of excellent properties and the choice of hardnesses and seal types available, used where the properties of standard neoprene are required, but with higher mechanical strength and temperature resistance.

BS2752 is a durable, strong, abrasive material, which can be used in environments where exposure or sealing against extreme weather, water, salts, oil grease, UV/Ozone and gases is necessary.

BS2752 rubber is easy to convert and can be used for a broad range of applications from extreme aerospace and defence industries, boating, marine sealing and insulation - through to being cut into gaskets, belts and sleeves.

Benefits of Using BS2752 Rubber Seals

    • Popular for internal and  external applications
    • Durable and can be easily converted into a range of seal types
    • Variety of hardnesses available
    • Impermeable to water and dust
    • Moderate resistance to oil, chemical greases and fats.
    • Excellent resistance to ozone, weathering and ageing
    •  Improved tensile strength and resistance to temperature compared to standard grades

    Different Grades Available

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd work with a multitude of manufacturers, allowing us to offer customers a wider choice of neoprene materials and products, alongside BS2752, we can also offer:

Standard Neoprene (CR) is one of our most popular solid rubber materials, with various thicknesses held in stock. Neoprene is suitable for use where there is exposure to grease, oil, acids, ozone and even seawater.

Flame retardant neoprene rubber can handle continuous temperatures of -30°C to +100°C, this material meets the test requirements of the flammability standard UL94-V0 and is in line with ISO 340. Flame retardant neoprene rubber sheets are also tested in accordance with anti-static BS 490.

Food Quality (FDA) neoprene is white in colour and conforms to EC and FDA regulations for use within the food processing and pharmaceutical industries.  Properties including resistance to fats, greases and vegetable oils, combined with higher tensile strength and wider working temperature range of -30°C up to +130°C make it a popular material to use.
