Acoustic Foam Strip

Acoustic Foam Strip

Acoustic Foam Strip: Advanced Seals & Gaskets produces strips in various materials, including Class O acoustic foam. We're equipped with a range of machinery, from presses and kiss-cut machines to CNC oscillating knives and bandsaws. For longer lengths, we utilize log cutters. Our in-house manufacturing allows us to create Class O acoustic foam strips in any size and quantity, meeting precise specifications for thickness, width, length, and finish, whether plain or self-adhesive. This ensures high-quality standards and minimal lead times.

Class O acoustic foam strips find applications in industries requiring flame retardant materials with sound/vibration absorption and thermal insulation properties, such as construction, marine, automotive, and building.

What is Acoustic Foam Strip

Class O acoustic foam is part of the Polyurethane foam family, featuring an open-cell structure. This lightweight foam serves multiple purposes, including sound control, noise and vibration reduction, and thermal insulation. While it's designed to reduce sound and echo, it doesn't completely eliminate sound. When used in ceilings, walls, and floors as sound absorption strips, it works by diminishing the amplitude of sound waves, effectively controlling noise. The energy from these sound waves is then dissipated as heat.

Class O acoustic foam is flame retardant, meeting UL-94 V-0 and BS476 part 6 & 7 standards. It's non-toxic, free from HCF & CFC, resistant to fungal growth, and dust-free. This makes it an ideal choice for various industries, including marine, construction, automotive, heating & ventilation, and manufacturing. It's a pliable material that's easy to cut and manipulate, allowing for straightforward application in complex shapes and positions.

    Acoustic Foam Strip

Strips, often referred to as 'gasket tape,' serve as isolation layers or gap fillers between two surfaces. At our facility, we produce strips from a diverse range of materials, including EPDM, neoprene, silicone, solid rubbers, sponge, plastics, polyethylene, PVC, Polyester, cork, textiles, and more. Our state-of-the-art machinery, including presses, kiss cut machines, oscillating knife (CNC), bandsaws, and log cutters for longer rolls, allows us to manufacture strips to precise specifications.

Additionally, our lamination service enables us to provide strips in extended lengths and varying thicknesses. You can choose from self-adhesives, foil faces, or even laminations with other materials to meet your specific requirements.

    Why use Acoustic Foam Strip

Class O acoustic foam strips find widespread application across various industries, including engineering, construction, automotive, and HVAC.

Primarily utilized for noise, echo, and vibration reduction, these strips control sound reverberation, preventing it from bouncing off walls and floors. Besides their sound-absorbing properties, acoustic foam excels in fire protection and thermal insulation. This versatility makes it ideal for industries like HVAC, construction, and automotive, subject to strict regulations.

The durable nature of acoustic foam enables precise cutting of thin strips, available plain or with various coverings, such as foil, self-adhesive, or laminated to other sponge and rubber materials. This broadens their range of applications and properties.
