RFI/EMI/EMC C Wrap

RFI EMI EMC C WRAP

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd manufacture and supply a diverse range of 'C' Wrap products.

'C' Wrap

C' Wrap has been designed to offer users a combination EMC/Environmental seal or gasket which can be fitted in seconds with no special tools or fixtures. It does not require the special terminations associated with products like Knitted wire. Advanced Seals & Gaskets ae able to manufacture a wide variety of products from 'C' Wrap products including:

'C' Wrap can be supplied with self-adhesive backing and in a wide range of widths and thicknesses, complete with variable fabric widths to accommodate knife edge and flange configurations. It can be supplied as a strip or a one-piece gasket and ready to fit door/panel kits, and is ideal for use in conjunction with our proprietary conductive foil masking system, Bake & Peel. The design utilises the known environmental sealing abilities of closed cell sponges such as Neoprene, Silicone and EPDM, coupled with the shielding qualities of Metalised fabric.

Key Characteristics of RFI/EMI/EMC C Wrap:

  • Quick and easy to fit
  • Environmental sealing to IP68, whilst averaging over a 100dB shielding rating
  • Can be made with UL94 V-0, food quality and high temperature materials
  • sealing capabilities of closed cell sponge
  • shielding capabilities of metalised fabric

    What are C wrap?

In the context of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) mitigation, "C-Wrap" or "C-Wrap RFI" is a technique used to shield or protect cables and wires from unwanted electromagnetic interference or radio frequency interference. Here are the reasons why the C-Wrap technique is used for RFI mitigation:

EMI/RFI Suppression: The primary purpose of the C-Wrap technique is to suppress or mitigate electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. This is crucial in applications where electronic devices or sensitive equipment are susceptible to interference that can degrade performance or lead to data corruption.

Preventing Signal Distortion: Electromagnetic interference can cause signal distortion and affect the quality of electrical signals transmitted through cables and wires. The C-Wrap helps shield these conductors, reducing the impact of external interference and maintaining signal integrity.

Cable Protection: The C-Wrap method not only provides shielding against EMI and RFI but also serves as a protective layer for cables and wires, preventing physical damage and wear and tear. This can extend the lifespan of cables and reduce maintenance costs.

    Advantages of Using C wrap

Compliance with Regulations: In certain industries, compliance with regulations regarding EMI and RFI emissions and susceptibility is mandatory. The C-Wrap technique can help companies meet these compliance requirements, ensuring that their products do not interfere with other electronic devices or are not affected by external interference.

Signal Quality: For applications where the quality of the signal is critical, such as in telecommunications, data transmission, or medical equipment, using the C-Wrap technique helps maintain high signal quality by reducing the impact of interference.

Improved Performance: By reducing EMI and RFI, the C-Wrap technique can lead to improved overall system performance and reliability. It minimizes the risk of system failures or data corruption due to interference.

    Why Use C wrap ?

Versatility: The C-Wrap technique can be applied to a wide range of cables, wires, and components, making it a versatile solution for EMI and RFI protection in various applications.

Cost Savings: Preventing interference and ensuring signal integrity can lead to cost savings by reducing the need for troubleshooting, repairs, or equipment replacement.

Long-Term Solution: The C-Wrap technique offers a long-term solution for EMI and RFI issues, making it a reliable choice for industries and applications where interference is a recurring concern.
