One of the silicone rubber grades we can offer is metal detectable silicone rubber, which is manufactured in continuous rolls of various lengths at 1.2meters wide, in thicknesses from 0.5mm to 10mm from which flat metal detectable silicone rubber seals can be cut.
Metal detectable silicone rubber seals can take the form of cut gaskets, washers, strips, pads or extruded and moulded components, which are all designed for the purpose of preventing leaks or the ingress of air, fluids and gas. All our metal detectable silicone rubber seals are made to order and are produced by following samples or drawings provided by customers to ensure the final product perfectly fits the application.
As each form of seal needs to be manufactured using a different process, ASG has invested heavily in various machinery allowing us to offer metal detectable silicone rubber seals in both high and low volumes, many of which can be supplied in a plain finish or coated with a choice of self-adhesives and foils.
What are Metal Detectable Silicone Rubber Seals?
Metal detectable silicone rubber is a blue coloured, FDA approved, high-quality material, which, unlike other food-safe rubber, contains additives that are visible to metal detector scanning equipment, enabling users to easily identify and remove any unwanted fragments or contamination in the food, drinks and pharmaceutical production process can be easily identified and isolated.
Metal detectable silicone rubber seals are a device or substrate that is used to join surfaces together, acting as a separator or a barrier to prevent liquids, particles or gases from escaping or penetrating the application.
‘Seal’ is a generic term for products often taking the form of cut gaskets, strips, washers, extruded or moulded profiles, edge trims and cord. Most of the sponge seals produced by Advanced Seals and Gaskets can be supplied with a choice of self-adhesives which assists with the placement of the metal detectable silicone rubber seals and holding it in position.
