Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd pride themselves in the ability to be able to convert and supply strips cut from a broad spectrum of materials including high-quality silicone rubber materials in a variety of grades, one of which is our Reinforced Silicone Rubber Strips.
Reinforced Silicone Rubber is manufactured and supplied as continuous rolls, but can also be cut down to sheets in a choice of 1x1m or 2x1m sizes from which strips can be cut, available in thicknesses from 1mm through to 6mm.
Reinforced Silicone Rubber strips are made to order, manufactured using one of our many machines including band saws, strippers, log cutters and even presses depending upon the size and quantity required - for very small strips in high volume runs, a kiss-cut option may also be available for faster production and time efficiency for the end user. On-site production allows us to closely oversee the whole production process to ensure that we consistently produce high quality, competitively priced strips.

What are Reinforced Silicone Rubber Strips?
Reinforced Silicone Rubber strips are pieces of the material often cut to a specific width, in pre-cut lengths or continuous coils as requested by our customers, often used in a similar way to a gasket placed between two surfaces to create a seal, provide cushioning, anti-vibration or insulation.
As with Standard Silicone (SI) rubber, Reinforced Silicone is an excellent material choice for converting into high performance mechanical seals and gasket strips which can operate at high and low temperatures, they even perform well when used outdoors and exposed to UV, weathering, ozone and moisture.
This Reinforced Silicone Rubber is formulated using the same compound as standard silicone, but has a glass fabric running through the center which acts as reinforcement to produce a more superior and durable, tear resistant material.
Why use Reinforced Silicone Rubber Strips?
Reinforced Silicone Rubber strips are used in similar ways to gaskets, to offer sealing, cushioning and protection, recognisable by their red colouration, however black and grey variants can also be manufactured in different grades in a choice of thicknesses from 1mm through to 6mm.
The material offers a broad working temperature range of around -62ºC - 260ºC, the same chemical resistance to standard silicone rubber, is odourless, tasteless and non-toxic, whilst offering far more superior durability and tear resistance compared to standard silicone, this is thanks for the glass fabric reinforcing layer which creates excellent tear resistance and non-creep characteristics, making the material suitable for use in applications that require non-stretch sealing and gasketing strips.
