Conductive Silicone Sheets

Conductive Silicone Sheets

Conductive Silicone Sheets

As well as a vast selection of sponge, foam and plastic sheets of material, Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd also offer a number of high quality solid rubber materials in sheet form, including various grades of silicone.

One of our more specialised grades is our Conductive silicone sheets, also commonly called "Electrically Conductive Silicone" or "RFI/EMI shielding silicone." Conductive silicone rubber is manufactured in thicknesses of 1.6mm, 2mm and 3.2mm at 915mm wide, and can be supplied in sheet sizes of 1 meter or 2 meters in length.

As we house a range of state of the art machinery and carry out all our conversion and laminations on-site, we are able to take these sheets, and cut them in various parts including strip, pads, washers and gaskets for use in a multitude of applications.

    What are Conductive Silicone Sheets?

Conductive silicone sheets are a carbon filled silicone material that acts as a low amp conductor, often used for the prevention and protection of static charge (electrostatic discharge) build up.

The generic term often used to describe a rubber material with conductive properties is ‘conductive rubber’.  These materials including Conductive silicone rubber and products cut from them are used for the purpose of eliminating electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI noise) often found in electronics.

Electrically Conductive silicone rubber can be taken as finished cut parts or in sheet form giving customers the flexibility to convert them into a range of usable products as required such as washers, pads, strips, etc.

    Why use Conductive Silicone Sheets?

Conductive silicone rubber is made using the same formulation as standard silicone rubber, but incorporating conductive carbon particles throughout the material.

Conductive silicone sheets are ideal for producing high-performance mechanicals sealing products such as washers, pads and gaskets which can operate at high and low temperatures.   Conductive silicone rubber offers weathering, UV and Ozone resistance and a wide operating temperature range of -54°C to + 260°, making it suitable for a range of industries and applications including electronic enclosure shielding, and connectors in medical, defence, aerospace and telecommunications.

Electrically conductive silicone sheets can be used to cover large surface areas, to cut and form into sleeves or used for converting into small cut parts.

    Different Grades

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd have a network of material manufacturers and suppliers, giving our customers more choice, our most popular grades being:

    • High Temperature Silicone
    • FDA Approved Silicone
    • Metal Detectable Silicone
    • Fluorosilicone
    • Platinum cured Silicone

    Benefits of Conductive Silicone Rubber?

    • High quality
    • Protection against electro-static discharge
    • Offers weathering, UV and Ozone resistance
    • Highly flexible
    • Wide operating temperature range

Advantages of using Conductive Rubber Sheets?

Customers often choose Conductive silicone rubber sheets for their shielding and sealing applications as they have a number of excellent characteristics and features.

Conductive silicone rubber has a broad working temperature range of  -54°C to + 260°C for use in hot and cold environments meaning it will not become brittle in freezing temperatures unlike many other rubber materials and suitable for indoor and outdoor use.  It is resistant to weathering, ozone, many chemicals and  fungal growth, offers excellent tensile strength and tear resistance.

Conductive silicone sheets are stocked in various thicknesses ready to be shipped or cut down into smaller components.  Conductive silicone rubber components can be found used in many applications and industries where electro-static shielding is required including military, defence, medical and telecommunications in the form of enclosure seals, covers, door seals, sleeves and isolation barriers.
