Slow Recovery PVC Foam Rolls

Not only do Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd convert and supply cut products, we are also able to offer full rolls of material, including Slow Recovery PVC Foam Rolls, sourced from a multitude of reputable material manufacturers and suppliers, enabling us to offer a range of materials in many grades, densities and colours.

One popular group of materials include various grades of PVC Foam, such as Slow Recovery PVC Foam. Slow Recovery PVC is a closed cell, low density foam which has a number of excellent mechanical properties, used widely for sealing and insulation. Slow Recovery PVC Foam is manufactured and stocked in roll form with a choice of thicknesses between 2mm and 20mm, roll widths of 1 meter or 1.4 meters and rolls lengths of up to 130 meter long depending on the thickness, which can be used to cut down into finished products such as gaskets, pads, strips or washers.

Our in-house lamination service means we can not only split PVC materials down to non-standard thicknesses, but we can also laminate layers together to create greater depths, laminate to other types of material or apply a choice of self adhesives or foil facings.

What Are Slow Recovery PVC Foam Rolls?

Slow recovery PVC Foam rolls are made up of PVC and Polyurea compounds, which are mixed and heated to the point of expansion and then cured to produce a foam material. The density of the material is determined by the level of expansion allowed prior to the curing process being started.

This manufacturing process creates continuous lengths or rolls of a closed cell, low density foam, perfect for sealing against air, dust and liquids. Slow Recovery PVC Foam rolls are produced using the above process, resulting in a material which ‘recovers’ or bounces back slowly following compression and which can easily be converted into a number of finished products.

Why Use Slow Recovery PVC Foam Rolls

Rolls of Slow Recovery PVC Foam offer all the mechanical properties of the other PVC Foam which include UV resistance, low level water absorption, dimensional stability and is used to construct seals against air, dust and liquids, but also offers slower recovery following compression.

PVC Foam rolls are lightweight, flame retardant and durable, with a Slow Recovery property making them perfect for cutting into moisture seals and within filtration systems or where there are irregular shaped gaps or surfaces which will take longer to manipulate to fit into position, allowing time for perfect placement of the seal.

Slow Recovery PVC foam is often taken in roll form, as they can be used to cover larger surfaces and allow customers the flexibility to cut their own parts as when when required.

Benefits Of Using Slow Recovery PVC Foam

    • Extra lightweight
    • Recovers slowly following compression
    • Can be laminated or split to non-standard thicknesses
    • Highly moisture resistant
    • Flame retardant
    • Can be easily cut into a range of products
      Excellent dust and moisture seal

Advantages Of Using Slow Recovery PVC Foam Rolls

Slow Recovery PVC Foam rolls offers countless advantages over other foams including good acoustic and flammability properties, as well as resistance to ozone, UV, rot and mould growth and solvents making them popular for use in the production of components for sealing, insulation, cushioning and filtration applications such as rooflight seals, glazing pads and refrigeration seals.

The reduced recovery time of this material allows it to be used to create a tight fitting and secure seal as it allows the user time to manipulate and perfectly fit the seal into position.

Slow Recovery PVC foam rolls are available in a range of pre-manufactured thicknesses, ready to be shipped or cut down into sheets and usable finished products such as gaskets, washers, strips or pads where they are utilised in the automotive, construction, electronics, HVAC and stationery industries.

Using rolls of slow recovery PVC foam allows for longer strips or larger gaskets to be products, and also result in a better yield of cut parts.
