Neoprene / EPDM Sponge Sheet
At Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd, we provide a wide range of high-quality sheet materials, including Neoprene/EPDM blend sponge sheets. These sheets are converted from blocks using state-of-the-art splitting machinery, allowing us to supply sheets from as little as 1mm thickness in standard dimensions of 2m x 1m.
Our in-house laminating service allows us to create thicker composite sheets by layering sponge materials, and we can also coat sheets with self-adhesives, foils, or other materials. These sheets provide end-users with the flexibility to cut bespoke strips, gaskets, or washers as required, making them ideal for a wide range of industrial applications.
What are Neoprene/EPDM Sponge Sheets?
Neoprene/EPDM sponge is a closed-cell, high-performance material manufactured from a blend of Polychloroprene (Neoprene) and Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM). This combination creates a flexible, durable, and versatile sheet suitable for applications requiring resilience, weather resistance, and stability.
ASG maintains core stock of neoprene/EPDM sponge in blocks, sheets, and rolls, starting from 1mm thickness, allowing for rapid despatch. Rolls are particularly popular for customers who want the freedom to cut their own sheets as needed, with optional finishes including foils and self-adhesives.

Why use Neoprene/EPDM Sponge Sheets?
Neoprene/EPDM sponge sheets offer excellent resistance to UV, ozone, and weathering, along with air- and water-resistance due to their closed-cell structure. The material has good ageing properties, some resistance to oil and acids, and a wide working temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
With flame retardant properties meeting UL94 HF1 classification, these sheets are suitable for internal and external applications including heating & ventilation systems, white goods, automotive components, electrical insulation, and sealing solutions.

Different Grades of Neoprene Available
ASG stocks a variety of neoprene sponge grades, providing options for different applications:
- Medium Density Neoprene Sponge: Closed-cell, air, dust, and watertight, resistant to ozone, sunlight, oxidation, and UV exposure. Flame retardant with a temperature range of -40°C to +115°C. Suitable for gaskets and general sealing applications.
- Firm Grade Neoprene Sponge: Density 180kg (+/- 25), FMVSS 302 fire-tested, ideal for heavy-duty sealing where less compression is required.
- Flame Retardant Neoprene Sponge: Grey in colour, fire-tested to FMVSS 302, UL94, AFNOR P9750, operating from -40°C to +115°C. Suitable for construction, transport, and high-risk fire applications.
