  5. Temperature Tolerance: Nitrile Seals offer good temperature tolerance, making them suitable for a wide temperature range, though not as extreme as some other materials.
  6. Customization: At Advanced Seals and Gaskets, we understand that industries have unique sealing requirements. Our Nitrile Seals can be customized in terms of size, shape, and specifications to suit the specific needs of your applications.
  7. Easy Installation: The design of our Nitrile Seals facilitates easy installation, simplifying assembly, replacement, or maintenance procedures and minimizing downtime.

Advanced Seals & Gaskets produce some of the highest quality seals in the UK, taking the forms of gaskets, washers, O-rings, cord and extrusions, which are all designed for the purpose of preventing leaks or the ingress of air, fluids and gas.

One such material from which we can produce seals is Nitrile rubber, which has good abrasion resistance and moderate tensile strength.  All our nitrile seals are made to order and are based on samples or drawings provided by customers to ensure the final product perfectly fits the application. As each form of seal needs to be manufactured using a different process, ASG has invested heavily in various machinery meaning we can produce both high and low volume nitrile seals.

Nitrile seals are perfect for dealing with the automotive, Nitrile rubber seals are primarily used in sealing applications in the automotive, aerospace and petrochemical industries, however, have poor resistance to ozone and weathering, so not recommended for outdoor use.

What is a Nitrile Seal?

Nitrile rubber, also known as Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), is a synthetic rubber produced from a copolymer of acrylonitrile (ACN) and butadiene.   Nitrile rubber seals are a device or substrate that is used to join surfaces together to either act as a separator or a barrier to prevent liquids, particles or gases from escaping or penetrating the application.

Nitrile seals is a generic term for products often taking the form of cut gaskets, strips, washers, extruded profiles and cord, all manufactured using the same material. Many of our nitrile seals can be supplied with a choice of self-adhesives which assists with the placement of the seal and to hold it in position.

Applications:

  • Automotive and Transportation: Nitrile Seals are used extensively in automotive components, such as engines, transmissions, and fuel systems, offering reliable sealing in the presence of oil and fuel.
  • Industrial Machinery: These seals are vital for machinery and equipment that require dependable sealing against oil, dust, and contaminants, reducing the risk of leaks and contamination.
  • Manufacturing: Nitrile Seals find application in manufacturing processes that involve oil-based fluids, chemicals, and environmental elements that could compromise sealing integrity.
  • Oil and Gas Industry: These seals are valuable in the oil and gas sector, providing reliable sealing solutions for equipment exposed to petroleum-based fluids.
  • Agricultural Machinery: Nitrile Seals play a role in agricultural machinery, where resistance to oil and chemicals is essential for maintaining operational efficiency.

At Advanced Seals and Gaskets, we prioritize innovation and performance in our Nitrile Seals. Their excellent oil resistance and adaptability make them valuable across a spectrum of industrial applications. Choose Advanced Seals and Gaskets' Nitrile Seals to elevate your industrial processes with top-tier sealing solutions that offer exceptional durability and reliability, particularly in environments where oil exposure is a concern.

    Seals

Here at Advanced Seals & Gaskets, we offer seals in an array of materials such as EPDM, Silicone, Solid rubber, Cork, Plastics, Polyethylene, Polyurethane and PVC foam to name just a few. Seals are designed to prevent leakages once compressed between irregular surfaces, having the incorrect shape, size or material would cause the gasket to fail, all of our seals are manufactured using specialised machinery, as we understand the final cut and finish of the seal needs to be perfect.

    Why use Nitrile Seals?

There are many different forms and profiles of nitrile seals, but as they are produced using the exact same material, they will still all possess the same mechanical properties making it a popular choice across many industries.

Nitrile rubber seal is an excellent material for creating air, dust and watertight seal, with good tensile strength, anti-abrasion properties and resistance to petrol, mineral & vegetable oils and some acids and alkalis.

The material has some flame retardancy, and a working temperature range of -20°C to +70℃. Nitrile rubber seals are a popular choice for automotive belting, hoses, o-rings, and oil seals within hydraulics and flanges.

    Different Grades

Advanced Seals & Gaskets have a network of material manufacturers, meaning we have access to various grades of nitrile rubber for many sealing applications, some of the other grades include:

(British Standard ) BS 2751 Nitrile is higher quality synthetic elastomer compared to commercial nitrile in terms of it’s improved elongation at break, tensile strength and resistance to a broader temperature range of -30°C up to +110°C.  BS2751 nitrile is manufactured inshore hardnesses of 40° to 80°.

Blue Metal detectable nitrile rubber is a synthetic elastomer that is manufactured with an additive visible to metal detector scanners.  This grade of material has excellent tear and abrasion resistance and is suitable for food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications as a way of detecting and reducing contamination.

Food Quality (FDA) Nitrile rubber is available in white or blue colour options, both conforming to  EC & FDA regulations, for use within food and pharmaceutical processing industries where the material needs to be resistant to vegetable oils, animal fats, fish oils and greases.

    Benefits of Nitrile Seals

    • Water, mineral/oil, petrol resistance.
    • Can be formed into complex seals and extrusions
    • Abrasive resistant
    • Water Proof
    • Excellent sea against gasses
    • Excellent for automotive applications

    Advantages of Using Nitrile Seals

There are many advantages to using Nitrile rubber seals as the material is highly versatile and robust, matched with the high resistance to oils, gases, fuels, grease, water and most acids makes Nitrile rubber seals highly sort after in many industries including automotive, construction, drilling, oil and many more.

Nitrile rubber seals are highly effective in keeping out particles and hazardous materials while keeping in the desired materials without any issue.  The high resistance and durability of Nitrile rubber seals mean the seals are long-lasting and efficient.  Please get in touch with our team for more information.
