Seals

Seals

Advanced Seals & Gaskets produce some of the highest quality seals in the UK, taking the forms of gaskets, washers, O-rings, cord and extrusions, which are all designed for the purpose of preventing leaks or the ingress of air, fluids and gas. All our seals are made to order and are based on samples or drawings provided by customers to ensure the final product perfectly fits the application.  As each form of seal needs to be manufactured using a different process, ASG has invested heavily in various machinery meaning we can produce both high and low volumes.

What are Seals?

Seals are a device or substrate that is used to join surfaces together, acting as a separator or a barrier to prevent liquids, particles or gases from escaping or penetrating the application. ‘Seal’ is a generic term for products often taking the form of cut gaskets, strips, washers, extruded or moulded profiles, edge trims and cord. Most of the seals produced by advanced seals and gaskets can be supplied with a choice of self-adhesives which assists with the placement of the seal and to hold it in position.

Why use Seals?

Seals are designed to prevent the escape or ingress of dust, air, liquids or gases when compressed between irregular surfaces – very much used in the same way as a gasket. Seals can also be used as an aid for shock, noise and vibration dampening in a range of industries. Our seals can commonly be found used in valves, pumps, engines, machinery, electrical appliances – in fact, seals are used in applications where there is a risk of leakage, where harmful or toxic liquids & gases are present, where components need to be kept separate or for protection on moving parts.

Benefits of Using Seals

Advanced Seals and gaskets can offer seals in a multitude of materials and profiles, each manufactured to our customer’s exact specification and in a material choice that will be best suited to the application or environment in which it will be used. Depending upon the material, seals will provide a range of benefits such as anti-abrasion and flame retardancy. They can also have resistances to extreme temperatures, ozone, Uv, weathering, acids, oils, chemicals and water. Choosing ASG for your sealing needs will ensure you receive a quality product, excellent service and a competitive price.
