Nitrile cork is made from cork granules which are then bonded together using a nitrile rubber matrix. The material is brown in colour with black pigments of rubber and is either produced in continuous rolls at 1000mm wide or if preferred in 1-meter square sheets depending upon the thickness.
There is a range of thicknesses available from 0.8mm to 25mm.
Nitrile Cork is an economical material that is highly compressible, suitable for high and low bolt pressures and has good flexibility and is also very resilient. All of these attributes make Nitrile Bonded Cork an excellent general purpose gasket material that will create an effective seal against particles, gases, and liquids.
Nitrile Cork has excellent working temperatures of -20°c to +120°c and offers good resistance to fuels, grease, and oils. These factors allow this material to perform well in such applications as sump seals, crankcase covers, inspection door seals, valve covers, electrical transformers and switchgear applications.
Cork can also be used for wider applications such as anti-vibration, clutch plates, and polishing wheels.
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd are pleased to be able to offer this material either plain or self-adhesive backed on either one or both sides. Adhesive coated product can be offered with a range of different adhesive systems due to our state of the art manufacturing facilities.
