Fluorosilicone Silicone Rubber

Advanced Seals & Gaskets silicone products are available in various sponge or solid material types, with Fluorosilicone rubber (which we use to manufacture our fluorosilicone silicone rubber) being one of the more specialist grades. Fluorosilicone rubber is manufactured and stocked in continuous rolls at 915mm wide and in thicknesses ranging between 0.5mm and 3.2mm.

These rolls of material can be supplied in full, cut down into sheets at 1 or 2 meters in length or using our in-house machinery converted into many usable parts including washers, gaskers, pads or strips cut on bandsaws, log cutters, slitters, presses and even an oscillating knife.

    What Is Fluorosilicone Silicone Rubber?

Our standard grade silicone rubber materials can be used in many applications and can offer resistance to most exposures, except however when it comes into contact with fuel where standard silicones will deteriorate.

Fluorosilicone rubber is a blue coloured, long-lasting elastomer which remains stable even in extreme temperatures, but also offers enhanced chemical resistance to include fuels, oils, acids, alkalies and solvents.

    Why use Fluorosilicone Silicone Rubber?

Fluorosilicone offers a number of useful properties, alongside the superior fuel and chemical resistance, it also has a wide operating temperature range of -53°C to +260°C, resistance to weathering, UV and Ozone.

These unique properties of fluorosilicone make it suitable for use in industrial, aerospace and automotive industries for sealing, gasketing and cushioning applications.

Advantages Of Using Fluorosilicone Rubber & Potential Applications

Fluorosilicone rubber is a very robust and long lasting material, which has a wide operating temperature range at both high and low extremes of around -53°C to +260°. The advantageous properties of fluorosilicone include UV, weather and ozone resistances, as well as having low taste and odour.

Fluorosilicone offers enhanced resistance to non-polar solvents, oils, fuels including diesel, acids and alkaline chemicals, making it perfect for use in sealing and gasketing in aerospace/aviation and automotive industries, in extreme temperature environments and to offer environmental insulation.
