EMI shielding windows are electrically conductive barriers that reduced the amount of electro-magnetic radiation passing through. They are used in applications where optical transmission needs to be maintained whilst provided electro-magnetic separation between 2 areas.

The types of Shielded Window generally available include:

  • Knitted wire mesh screens
  • Woven mesh screens
  • Transparent conductive coatings

EMI Shielded Windows use glass or polycarbonate as a base and a fine woven mesh between or embedded in clear or coloured optical substrate, which provide a high performance EMI Shielding. Applications in which EMI Shielded Windows can be used include Avionics, Enclosures, Medical, Shielded rooms, Viewing display devices and Military equipment.

Key Characteristics of RFI/EMI/EMC Shielded Windows:

  • Fine mesh is laminated in between your selected filter medium.
  • Plastic versions can be machined to any desired profile
  • Different meshes available to suit the application
  • None reflective surfaces can be included.
  • High level of shielding from both internally and externally generated electromagnetic emissions
