Class O Foam (acoustic Foam)

“Class O” is the best building regulations designation for materials that protect from the spread of flames and limits the amount of heat released from the surface during a fire.

Many areas of industry can benefit from Class O Foam, it can be easily cut, shaped, adhesive backed and is Non-irritant whilst being safe and easy to install.

Class O Foam is often referred to as Acoustic Foam, Fireseal, Impregnated Polyurethane, Non-Flammable Acoustic Foam or pyrosorb.

Uses for Class O Foam

Our A354 is Class O accredited and has a magnitude of uses including;

  • Acoustic enclosures
  • Air conditioning equipment and duct systems

Properties and format of Class O Foam

Class O foam has the following attributes amongst others;

  • High resistance to fire
  • Low smoke emission
  • High resistance to air erosion
  • Reduces vibrations
  • Excellent acoustic properties
  • Is non-fibrous eliminating the potential health hazards associated with fibrous products

Class O Foam can be supplied in the many formats detailed above or in sheet or roll format, standard sheet size is 1m x 2m x 100mm thick (without lamination) and in continuous rolls up to and over 10m (thickness dependent).
