Ceramic Fibre Pads

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd manufacture pads using the highest quality materials sourced from across the world, many of which are used in specialist sealing, insulating and gasketing applications.

One such material is Ceramic Fibre Jointing Paper, also called Ceramic Fibre Paper. Ceramic Fibre Jointing Paper is manufactured in thicknesses between 1mm and 8mm, widths of up to 1260mm and various roll lengths of 40meters to 330 meters depending on the thickness from which pads can be cut. Our ceramic fibre pads are produced on-site using drawings or measurements provided by our customers, ensuring the final product meets their exact specifications.

Depending upon the size and quantity of pads required, one of many presses or bandsaws can be used to manufacture the final product, from a one-off sample to multiple thousand batch runs, either as loosely cut parts or kiss-cut on rolls, depending on the side of the pad required.

    What are Ceramic Fibre Pads?

Ceramic Fibre Pads are converted using Ceramic Fibre Jointing Paper,, which is manufactured using a combination of papermaking techniques, ceramic fibre (alumina silicate) and organic binders.

The binders are carefully selected to ensure they do not release unpleasant odours or toxins when they burn during application.  The process of manufacturing this material ensures an accurate thickness and uniform structure is formed to ensure the reliability of the pad when in situ.

Our ceramic fibre pads can be produced as squares or rectangles with the option of radius corners, and also as circular or oval-shaped pads or ‘discs’,  in a range of thicknesses.  Manufacturing pads in-house even means we can supply them in a plain or self-adhesive backed finish.

Why use Ceramic Fibre Jointing Paper Pads?

Class O Acoustic Foam Gaskets can be manufactured with a plain or self-adhesive backing to allow for easy installation and to hold the gasket in place, ensuring it remains stable even if the application moves.

Clients can choose from a selection of adhesives including acrylic, scrim and tissue with low, medium or high tack options, depending upon the individual requirements.    Acoustic foam gaskets can also be cut from foam laminated to a range of our other materials using spray adhesives.

Advantages of using Ceramic Fibre Jointing Paper Pads

There are various ways in which our customers utilize acoustic foam gaskets, these include sound absorption. Due to its excellent sound dampening properties, acoustic foam gaskets are often used for fittings within marine applications, recording studios, acoustic/compressor or generator enclosures, etc.

Many industries also utilize acoustic foam gaskets for insulation, vibration control and cushioning due to the materials exceptional fire resistance properties (Surface Spread of Flame Class 1 BS 476 part 7 and Building Regulations 1991 (fire safety) Class 0 BS 476 part 6&7).

These include heating & ventilation, construction, automotive, and electrical equipment and appliance manufacturing.

Benefits of using Ceramic Fibre Jointing Paper

    • Fire Rated:
      • Surface Spread of Flame Class 1 BS 476 pt7
      • Building Regs 1991 (fire safety) Class 0
      • UL94 flammability self-extinguish after removal of flame.
    • Non-toxic
    • Mildew / Fungus Resistance
    • Chemical Resistant
    • HCF (hydrochlorofluorocarbon) & CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) free
    • Lightweight, flexible & easy to fabricate

Where can Ceramic Fibre Jointing Paper be used:

Acoustic foam gaskets hold various advantageous properties that are highly utilizable in a variety of industries.

The greatest advantage of using acoustic foam gaskets is the exceptional noise dampening capabilities of the material. As acoustic foam is an open cell material it is highly effective at absorbing sounds as well as cushioning and padding.

Acoustic foam gaskets commonly used as the material performs multiple functions at the same time, while the acoustic foam gasket is applied for cushioning the material will also absorb sound waves dampening the noise.
