Static Electricity is caused by transfer of electrons during the sliding/rubbing of a material, this generated electrostatic voltages (ESD - Electrostatic Discharge). When coming into contact with a person or microcircuit, this can generate a spark causing electronic parts to be destroyed or damaged.
Conductive Polyethylene Foam offers protective cushioning, shock absorption, and a controlled transfer of static charges providing protection for devices, equipment and circuit boards, etc. when being transported or handled. This material is used widely for pin insertion in electronics, ESD box lining and insulation for custom packaging.
All Polyethylene Foam pads supplied by Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd are made to measure. They are generally made as squares, rectangles or circles, however our automated machinery can be programmed to cut whatever shape you require.
Standard Thicknesses range from 1.5mm to 32mm.
Conductive Polyethylene Foam Pads can be manufactured plain or with a choice self-adhesive backings, foils and films, and supplied as individual pieces or kiss-cut onto strips.
