EPDM Foam Sheet
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd hold EPDM foam blocks as a stock material and therefore are able to convert these into EPDM Foam sheets using state of the art splitting machinery with a minimal turnaround time. Our expert staff can produce any quantity of sheets in a relatively short amount of time from as little as 1mm thick, right up to 50mm from a single block, we also offer an in-house laminating service allowing us to supply greater thicknesses and sheets joined to be larger than the standard 1mtr x 1mtr or 2mtr x 1mtr sizes. EPDM Foam sheeting is an excellent material for us in manufacturing expansion joints, door seals and weather strips, anti-vibration pads and air/water flow seals.

Why Use EPDM Foam Sheets?
EPDM Foam is a closed cell material, meaning that even when not compressed, its nitrogen gas filled cells prevent the passage of air, liquids and gasses. It is the releasing of Nitrogen gas which gives EPDM foam its strong compression set and recovery characteristics. EPDM Foam sheets are a popular product in a variety of applications for a number of reasons, EPDM foam has excellent resistance to Ozone, UV and weathering as well as its general resistance to abrasion. EPDM foam is also flammability tested to meet FMVSS302 and UL94 HBF standards therefore these strips can be found used within the automotive interiors, electronic, lighting systems ventilation glazing seals and door seals. EDPM foam sheets can also be used to cut seals/gaskets used in air/water flow applications and to solve noise insulation and anti-vibration issues.
ASG supply a full range of EPDM foam sponge sheets in black, with the option of white also available in medium density.
Self-adhesive EPDM Foam Sheet
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd stock and manufacture a range of adhesive tapes which can be applied to EPDM Foam sheets allowing us to supply them with a plain or with self-adhesive finish. The self-adhesives are available in low, medium and high tack options and can be applied to 1 or both faces of the strip depending upon the application. Our members of staff can offer further advice and information to help you decide which option is best suited to your needs.
Grades of EPDM Foam Sheet
ASG use a variety of quality grades and densities of EPDM foam to manufacture sheets suited to individual applications. These include medium and firm densities, high temperature and semi-open cell varieties.

EPDM Foam Sheet – High Temperature, Semi Open Cell, Firm Grade
High Temperature grade EPDM Foam sheets are closed cell and highly flexible even at low temperatures, with an amazing temperature range of -50°c to +128°c. High-Temperature EPDM foam has many excellent mechanical characteristics including thermal and insulation properties, making this material ideal for many industries and applications including HVAC, Refrigeration, Pipeline, Automotive, White goods and Building & construction, etc.
Semi Open cell EPDM combines the flexibility of an open cell material with the excellent sealing capabilities of closed cell types once compressed. Semi open cell EPDM will allow for ingress of air, dust, moisture until compressed by 80% of their thickness, following this the product becomes water and air tight and behaves as a closed cell product.
Firm Grade EPDM Foam sheets are designed for customers requiring a more resilient material that will not compress as much as the standard grades under load, also this material benefits from increased tear strength and suits some of the more demanding applications such as Automotive, White Goods, Marine, Defence, Building and Construction, etc
What is EPDM?
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd manufactures sheets using EPDM foam which is a strong, synthetic material. EPDM foam is closed cell making it an ideal material for internal and external sealing applications where minimal compression is required for the material to work effectively, has an excellent lifespan even when used outdoors and is free from dust and fibre (closed cell variations only).
EPDM is an abbreviation of Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer which are the chemical components used to manufacture this foam. It is a popular choice that is air and water tight, ages well without becoming brittle, offers good UV resistance and able to withstand a wide scale of temperatures ranging from -20°C up to a high of 85°C, excellent electrical insulation material, as well as having good resistance to ketones, ordinary diluted acids and alkalis
EPDM foam has a weak resistance to oils and many petroleum derivatives and chemicals.
The Advantages of using EPDM as a material
- Thermal stability – can be used in high and low temperature applications(-20°c to +85°c)
- Environmental resilience – extremely resistant to UV, Ozone and weathering
- Chemical resistance – good resistance to ketones, ordinary diluted acids and alkalis
- Compression - Good compression resistance flexibility, tensile strength and recovery properties
- Closed Cell Structure - ideal material for sealing against air and/or water and preventing bacteria and mold build up even when not compressed
- Flammability – tested to FMVSS302 and UL94 HBF
- Available in black or white (medium density sponge only)
- Readily available material - quicker turnaround times
- Easy to convert – our range of machinery means we can offer an EPDM foam strip to suit your every need.
