Food Quality Silicone Washers
Here at Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd, we pride ourselves on being one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of non-metallic washers, including various grades of silicone. One of our more specialised grades is Electrically Conductive Silicone Rubber which is manufactured in thicknesses of 1.6mm, 2mm and 3.2mm at 915mm wide, and supplied in 1-meter widths up to 10 meters long from which we can cut bespoke sized washers.
As we house a range of state of the art conversion machinery on-site, we are able to take these sheets and rolls and cut them in various parts including cut strips, pads, washers and gaskets for use in a multitude of applications.
All our washers are manufactured in-house using a combination of a skilled workforce and high-spec machinery, using either our oscillating knife or one of our many presses, depending upon size, thickness and quantity required.
Our range of machinery means we can manufacture Electrically Conductive Silicone rubber washers to match your specified dimensions in any quantity quickly and efficiently, which in return passes on a quality product and a cost-saving.
What are Electrically Conductive Silicone Rubber Washers?
Conductive Silicone Rubber is a carbon filled silicone material that acts as a low amp conductor, often used for the prevention and protection of static charge (electrostatic discharge) build-up. The generic term often used to describe a rubber material with conductive properties is ‘conductive rubber’.
These materials and products are used for the purpose of eliminating electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI noise) often found in electronics.
A ‘washer’ is a flat ring of material with Outer Diameter (OD), Internal Diameter (ID) measurements, which is placed between two surfaces or between joints in order to reduce friction and prevent unsteadiness, creating a level surface for nuts, bolts and other fixings to rest on, improving the fit for fixings and can be used as a water or airtight seal.

Why use Electrically Conductive Silicone Rubber Washers?
Silicone (SI) rubber is an excellent material for producing high-performance mechanical seals and washers which can operate at high and low temperatures. Electrically conductive silicone rubber is made using the same formulation as standard silicone rubber but incorporates conductive carbon particles throughout the material.
Electrically conductive silicone rubber offers weathering, UV and Ozone resistance and a wide operating temperature range of -54°C to + 260°, making it suitable for a range of industries and applications including electronic enclosure shielding, and connectors in medical, defence, aerospace and telecommunications.
Advantages of using Electrically Conductive Silicone Rubber Washers?
Customers often choose Electrically Conductive Silicone rubber for the production of their washers as it has a number of excellent characteristics and features. Silicone rubber has a broad working temperature range of -54°C to + 260°C for use in hot and cold environments meaning it will not become brittle in freezing temperatures, unlike many other rubber materials.
It is resistant to weathering, ozone, therefore suitable for indoor and outdoor use, as well as resistant to many chemicals and fungal growth and offers excellent tensile strength and tear resistance.
Electrically conductive silicone rubber washers can be found used in many applications and industries where electro-static shielding is required including military, defence, medical and telecommunications in the form of enclosure seals, covers, door fittings, within electrical goods and as isolation barriers.
