Food Quality Neoprene Rubber Pads

Working with suppliers and manufacturers from across the world, Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd are able to offer a diverse range of neoprene materials in both rubber and sponge types, one of which is Food Quality Neoprene Rubber.

This material is manufactured in roll form at 1.4meters wide x 5 meters or 10meters long and in thicknesses starting at just 1mm, from which pads can be cut.   As we carry out all our conversion on-site, we can cut FDA Neoprene Rubber pads down into bespoke sized pads.

Regardless of the size and quantity of pads required, we have a number of presses, bandsaws or CNC machines that can be used to manufacture the final product.

From one-off samples to multiple 1000 batches runs, which depending on the pad size can be supplied as loosely cut parts or kiss-cut on rolls where a high quantity is required or for use on fast-paced assembly lines.

What are Food Quality Solid Neoprene Rubber Pads?

Food Quality Neoprene Rubber is a synthetic, white coloured,  tasteless and odourless material that is used within the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries.

The bright colour allows for easy visibility of dirt or materials that may contaminate foods or drinks during production or packaging and can be used in high-temperature applications and where there will be contact with greases and animal/vegetable fats.

Using a selection of in-house machinery ASG  can produce  FDA Neoprene Rubber cut into square or rectangular pads with the option of radius corners, and also as circular or oval-shaped pads or ‘discs’,  in a range of thicknesses.

Manufacturing pads in-house means we can offer the option to supply them in a plain or self-adhesive backed finish.

Why use Food Quality Solid Neoprene Rubber Pads?

Food quality solid neoprene rubber is a high quality material formulated to conform to FDA standards (Food and Drug Administration).

By meeting these standards, we can ensure these pads are safe for use in food, drink and pharmaceutical applications, where its colour helps with the detection of dirt and foreign bodies whilst protecting the ingredients from taste and odour contamination.

Food quality neoprene rubber is water-resistant and therefore does not support mould growth, it also offers resistance to high temperatures, oil and many chemicals.

Food Quality Neoprene Rubber pads can be taken for use in a similar way to a gasket for sealing or cushioning within machinery and equipment used for food or drink production.

Benefits of using Food Quality Solid Neoprene Rubber

    • Suitable for food, drink and pharmaceutical applications
    • Durable even at high temperatures
    • Abrasion-resistant
    • Impermeable to water therefore will not allow for mould growth
    • Resistant to greases and animal/vegetable fat
    • Good mechanical strength

Advantages of using Food Quality Solid Neoprene Rubber Pads

Solid Neoprene rubber is available in a range of types, each with its own set of unique properties for use in a range of industries and environments.

Food quality neoprene (CR) rubber demonstrates the same chemical characteristics of a standard grade neoprene rubber, but due to the addition of different additives and compounds, it has higher tensile strength and temperature resistance.

Food quality neoprene rubber pads are popular for sealing and cushioning within the food, drink and pharmaceutical industries as its white colour allows for dirt or foreign object detection, it is odourless therefore protecting products from contamination and offers resistance to animal and vegetable fats, oils and greases.

Applications in which food quality neoprene rubber are often utilised include food, beverage and pharmaceutical processing and packaging, sealing gaskets or o-rings, oven seals and drink pumps, etc.

    Different grades of Solid Neoprene

As ASG works with a network of material manufacturers and suppliers, we are able to offer customers a choice of neoprene rubber types to choose from, some of the most popular include:

Neoprene (CR) is one of our most popular solid rubber materials, with various thicknesses held in stock.  Neoprene is suitable for use where there is exposure to grease, oil, acids, ozone and even seawater.  Available in shore hardnesses of 40° – 80° Shore.

Flame retardant neoprene rubber sheets can handle continuous temperatures of -30°C to +100°C, this material meets the test requirements of the flammability standard UL94-V0 and is in line with ISO 340. Flame retardant neoprene rubber sheets are also tested in accordance with anti-static BS 490.

Neoprene insertion rubber (CR) Solid Neoprene is one of our most popular solid rubber materials, with various thicknesses held in stock. Neoprene is suitable for use where there is exposure to grease, oil, acids, ozone and even seawater.
