HT800 Gaskets

HT800 Gasket

HT800 Gaskets

Here at Advanced Seals and Gaskets Ltd we convert and supply a range of high-quality silicone gaskets, in various densities and grades.  One grade of silicone we can offer is HT800 silicone sponge, which is a medium firmness sponge with flame retardant properties, which is manufactured at 915mm wide, and in standard thicknesses ranging from 0.8mm - 12.7mm, at various roll lengths depending on the thickness from which gaskets can be cut.

Our HT800 gaskets are produced on-site using drawings, samples or measurements provided by our customers, from a simple picture frame gasket to more complex shapes with cut-outs, notches or bolt-holes.

Whether it’s a one-off sample or a multi-thousand batch run, we have a machine designed to quickly and accurately produce perfectly formed gaskets every time. HT800 silicone sponge gaskets can be supplied in a plain finish, laminated in layers to create other thicknesses,  laminated to other materials or coated with a choice of self-adhesives and foils prior to the ht800 gasket being cut.

What are HT800 Gaskets?

HT800 is a closed-cell, lightweight, versatile, medium firmness, flame retardant silicone sponge that offers enhanced sealing capabilities and is used in applications where fire safety is a concern as the material will offer low levels of flame propagation, low smoke generation and low emission of toxic gases.

The closed-cell structure of the HT800 sponge means it can be used in sealing applications against dust, moisture and air, therefore ideal for ht800 gasket production. HT800 Gaskets can take the form of a strip or pad but are generally an intricately cut shaped piece of material placed between two surfaces to create a low-pressure seal preventing the leakage of liquids or gas and to seal against the intrusion of dust and debris.

    Why use HT800 Gaskets?

HT800 Silicone sponge gaskets offer many desirable properties with many of our customers choosing this grade of silicone as it has all the properties of standard silicone sponge but is flame-retardant and FDA approved.

HT800 gaskets offer excellent heat resistance and are resistant to UV light, ozone and most moderate chemicals. HT800 gaskets can be used to seal against the intrusion of dust, moisture and air in HVAC, electrical enclosures or lighting systems or as shock and vibration cushioning in transport.

    Advantages of using HT800 Gaskets

There are many advantages to using HT800 Silicone sponge as a gasketing material such as the highly efficient sealing capabilities, its resistance to UV, Ozone, extreme temperatures and fire, which makes it suitable for a range of uses both indoors and out.

HT800 silicone gaskets are found widely used for applications such as outdoor sealing where it protects against the penetration of air, dust, moisture such as in lighting fixtures, air conditioning units, electrical cabinets and other outdoor enclosures.

Due to its compression set, HT800 is also well suited for use in shock absorbing and vibration isolation applications. HT800 gaskets demonstrates excellent memory and low-stress relaxation, which in turn reduces costs from seal or gasket failure caused by poor compression set and softening.

The material can also be used as ht800 gasket used for shock reduction and vibration isolation in a range of electronics and transportation applications.

Different Grades of Silicone Sponge Available

High-Temperature Sponge is a medium density silicone spine that is soft and pliable, used in a range of sealing and gasketing applications where a temperature range of -60°C to +270°C (300°C intermittently) is required.

Fluorosilicone Sponge is a blue, closed-cell material that is resistant to oil, harsh chemicals, fuels and solvents.  It has an impressive operating temperature range of -62°C to +204°C, a low compression set and electrical strength

Thermally Conductive Silicone is a closed cell sponge that offers thermal conductivity and electrical isolation properties, found used in applications where a thermal transfer is required.

High Recovery Silicone Sponge is manufactured with a  fine fabric finish on both sides, in a choice of red oxide or black colours  This closed cell sponge is popular with clothing and fabric printers because of its density and easy release properties.

FDA Sponge is a medium density, closed-cell silicone, white in colour.  This particular grade of silicone sponge is platinum cured to conform to FDA 177.2600 and EC 1935/2004 standards for use as gasketing and sealing in food, drink and pharmaceutical applications.
