Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd are leading convertors of Polyethylene products, with extensive storage facilities enabling us to stock blocks ‘buns’ of polyethylene, in a range of densities and colours all ready to be converted into one of 1000’s of products. Other names sometimes used to describe this material are block foam, PE foam, polyethylene sponge or LDPE (low density Polyethylene) foam. Sheets of Polyethylene foam are split from 2 metre x 1 metre sized blocks of material using our state of the art splitting machines, which can quickly and accurately produce sheets in various thicknesses starting from as little as 1.5mm from which pads can be cut.

Our pads are produced on-site using drawings or measurements provided by our customers, with whom we work closely to ensure the final product is to their exact specification. Depending upon the size and quantity of pads required, one of many presses, bandsaws or CNC machines can be used to manufacture the final product, from one off samples to multiple batch runs, which can be supplied as loosely cut parts, or kiss-cut on rolls where a high quantity is required or for use on fast paced assembly lines.

    What are Polyethylene Foam Pads?

    Polyethylene foam pads can be cut from rolls or sheets of material and often used in the same way as a gasket, whereby they are used to create a seal between uneven surfaces and fill irregularities. Our pads can be produced as squares or rectangles with the option of radius corners, and also as circular or oval shaped pads or ‘discs’,  in a range of thicknesses.  Manufacturing pads in-house even means we can supply them in a plain or self adhesive backed finish and even laminate multiple types of material together to create bespoke and unique variations. The Polyethylene foam used in the production of these pads is a chemically cross-linked foam, part of the Thermoplastic foam family, which has small, uniform, closed-cell structure, creating a high quality, lightweight material, it is a great material with  a number of resistances and insulation properties as well as being available in a variety of grades, densities, colours. Densities in which Polyethylene foam are produced include 25kg, 30kg, 45kg, 60kg, 100kg, EEV, EVA, Conduction, Anti-static and Flame Retardant. 

    Why use Polyethylene Foam Pads?

    Polyethylene foam pads can be cut from rolls or sheets of material in a range of grades and densities offering various properties for use in different applications, with many available in a choice of colours. Polyethylene foam pads have a low compression set, are resistant to water, oils, chemicals and weather.

    Being made from a closed cell material, they have a  good tear resistance and don't support mold or fungus growth. Polyethylene foam and pade cut from this material have a number of desirable properties including resistance to wear and tear, Ozone, UV and a working temperature range of -60°C - +90°C.

    It also offers excellent mechanical characteristics including noise and vibration control and can be used for thermal insulation. Polyethylene foam pads can be used to fill gaps and irregularities between uneven surfaces, provide a solution to unwanted rattles, noise, vibrations, to seal against air, gas, dust and liquids, and can also be used to cushion between moving parts to reduce friction and damage to components and equipment.
