Conductive Silicone Strip

Conductive Silicone Strip

Conductive Silicone Strip

Here at Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd we manufacture and supply thousands of high quality solid rubber strips, sometimes referred to as gasket strip, sealing strip, isolation strip to name a few.

One of our more specialised grades of silicone is Conductive silicone rubber which is manufactured in thicknesses of 1.6mm, 2mm and 3.2mm at 915mm wide, and supplied in 1 meter widths up to 10 meters long from which strips can be cut.  Conductive silicone strips are all manufactured by our highly skilled workforce using state of the art machinery, following our customer samples of drawings.

We can produce bespoke  Conductive Silicone strips using our bandsaws, strippers, log cutters and even presses depending upon the size and quantity required.  In-house production allows us to closely oversee the whole production process to ensure  that we consistently produce high quality, competitively priced strips.   Our Conductive silicone rubber strips are cut from rolls or sheets, which can be supplied coated with a self adhesive backing or laminated to other materials, before being cut into strips in widths starting at 4mm wide and in a choice of 10 meter long continuous coils or pre-cut shorter lengths.

What are RFI/EMI/EMC Conductive Silicone Strips?

Conductive silicone rubber is a carbon filled silicone material that acts as a low amp conductor, often used for the prevention and protection of static charge (electrostatic discharge) build up.  The generic term often used to describe a rubber material with conductive properties is ‘conductive rubber’.

These materials and products are used for the purpose of eliminating electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI noise) often found in electronics.    conductive silicone rubber strips are cut from sheets or rolls to order, meaning we can supply them to meet your exact specifications in terms of lead time, size and finish.

Conductive silicone strips can be used for noise or vibration control applications  or as gaskets, placed between two surfaces to create a low pressure seal preventing the leakage of dust, liquids or gas.

Why use RFI/EMI/EMC Conductive Silicone Strips?

RFI/EMI conductive silicone (SI) rubber strips are an excellent product for use as  gap fillers, gaskets and insulation.  Conductive silicone rubber is made using the same formulation as standard silicone rubber, but incorporating conductive carbon particles throughout the material.

Conductive silicone rubber strips offer weathering, UV and Ozone resistance and a wide operating temperature range of -54°C to + 260°, making it suitable for a range of industries and applications including electronic enclosure shielding, and connectors in medical, defence, aerospace and telecommunications.

Conductive silicone rubber can be taken in bespoke cut strips or alternatively can be taken in full sheets or rolls where the end user can cut them down to size as when required at a later date.

Other Grades of Silicone Rubber Available

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd have a network of material manufacturers and suppliers, giving our customers more choice, our most popular grades being:

    • High Temperature Silicone
    • FDA Approved Silicone
    • Metal Detectable Silicone
    • Fluorosilicone
    • Platinum cured Silicone

Benefits of Electrically Conductive Silicone Rubber?

    • High quality
    • Protection against electro-static discharge
    • Offers weathering, UV and Ozone resistance
    • Highly flexible
    • Wide operating temperature range

Advantages of using Conductive Silicone Rubber Strips?

For many electrical applications, customers will often choose conductive silicone strips as they have a number of  excellent characteristics and features and are suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Conductive silicone strips have a broad working temperature range of  -54°C to + 260°C for use in hot and cold environments and will not become brittle in freezing temperatures unlike many other rubber materials.

Conductive silicone strips are resistant to weathering, ozone, many chemicals and  fungal growth and offer excellent tensile strength and tear resistance. Conductive silicone rubber can be found used in many applications and industries where electro-static (emi/rfi/emc) shielding is required including military, defence, medical and telecommunications in the form of enclosure seals, covers, door seals, sleeves and isolation barriers.
