Slow Recovery PVC Foam Pads

Slow Recovery PVC Foam Pads

ASG are one of the country’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of quality converted pads, cut from a range of non-metallic materials including various types of sponge and foams. One of our material groups is PVC Foam, which consists of a number of grades, including slow recovery PVC foam, which is used to create slow recovery PVC foam pads.

Slow Recovery PVC foam is a closed cell, low density foam which has a number of excellent characteristics and properties, used widely for sealing and insulation applications. Slow Recovery PVC Foam is manufactured and stocked in roll form with a choice of thicknesses between 2mm and 20mm, roll widths of 1 meter or 1.4 meters and rolls lengths of up to 130 meter long depending on the thickness, from which slow recovery PVC foam pads can be cut.

As we carry out all our conversion on site, we can cut Slow Recovery PVC Foam down into bespoke sized pads. Regardless of the size and quantity of pads required, we have a number of presses, bandsaws or CNC machines which can be used to manufacture the final product. From one off samples to multiple 1000 batch runs, which depending on the pad size can be supplied as loosely cut parts, or kiss-cut on rolls where a high quantity is required or for use on fast paced assembly lines.

What Are Slow Recovery PVC Foam Pads?

Slow Recovery PVC Foam material is made up of PVC and Polyurea compounds which are combined, heated until it expands and then cured, creating a closed cell, low density foam which can be used to cut pads perfect for sealing against air, dust and liquids, as well as cushioning and insulating. Slow Recovery PVC Foam as the name suggests ‘recovers’ slowly following compression.

Why Use Slow Recovery PVC Foam Pads?

Slow Recovery PVC Foam pads offer many of the properties of the other PVC Foam range which include UV resistance, low level water absorption, dimensional stability, ideal for use to construct seals against air, dust and liquids, but also offering a slower recovery following compression.

Slow recovery PVC Foam pads are lightweight, flame retardant and durable, with the Slow Recovery property making them perfect for the production of moisture seals or components for use within filtration systems and where there are irregular shaped gaps or surfaces which will take longer to manipulate to fit into position.

Benefits Of Using Slow Recovery PVC Foam

    • Extra lightweight
    • Recovers slowly following compression
    • Can be laminated or split to non-standard thicknesses
    • Highly moisture resistant
    • Flame retardant
    • Can be easily cut into a range of products
    • Excellent dust and moisture seal

Different Grades of PVC Foam Available

Having a network of manufacturers and suppliers, allows ASG to offer a full range of PVC materials, many of which are readily available from stock for a quick turnaround. Below is just a selection of some of our popular polyethylene material types we can offer:

    • Fast Recovery
    • Fruit Selection (Dual Density)
    • High Density
    • Medium Density
    • Low Density

Advantages Of Using Slow Recovery PVC Foam Pads

Customers often choose to use Slow Recovery PVC Foam for their pad conversion, as the material offers countless advantages over other foams including good acoustic, flammability properties and resistance to ozone, UV, rot and mould growth and solvents making them popular for use in sealing, insulation, cushioning, anti-vibration and filtration applications such as rooflight seals, glazing pads and refrigeration seals.

The reduced recovery time of this material allows it to be used to create a tight fitting and secure seal as it allows the user time to manipulate and fit the slow recovery PVC foam pads into position. Slow Recovery PVC foam pads are available in a range of pre-manufactured thicknesses, ready to be shipped or cut down into pads where they are utilised in the automotive, construction, electronics, HVAC and stationery industries.
