Commercial Insertion Rubber Seals

Advanced Seals & Gaskets are proud to be one of the UK’s leading suppliers of solid rubber seals, such as solid commercial insertion rubber seals, manufactured from a number of grades including commercial insertion rubber. Solid commercial insertion rubber is sometimes referred to as SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) rubber, a lower cost alternative to natural rubber, which is often mixed with other polymers such as neoprene and epdm.

ASG supply the highest quality solid commercial insertion rubber seals taking the forms of gaskets, washers, O-rings, mouldings and extrusions, which are all designed for the purpose of preventing leaks or the ingress of air, fluids and gas, insulation and protection. All our commercial insertion rubber seals are made to order and are produced using samples or drawings provided by customers to ensure the final product perfectly fits the application.

As each form of seal needs to be manufactured using a different process, ASG have invested heavily in various machinery meaning we can offer most seal types in high or low quantities. The quality of solid commercial insertion rubber seals is just as important as the material itself as an inaccurate profile or fit would allow leaks and therefore causing the application to fail.

What Are Solid Commercial Insertion Rubber Seals?

Solid commercial insertion rubber seals are a group of products often taking the form of cut gaskets, strips, washers, extruded or moulded profiles and edge trims. They are often used as a gap filler between surfaces, acting as a separator or a barrier to prevent liquids, particles or gases escaping or penetrating the application and in a number of vibration dampening, sealing and insulating applications.

Solid commercial insertion rubber (SBR styrene-butadiene rubber) is manufactured to the same specification as SBR, but is produced with a mesh/fabric reinforcement layer running through the centre referred to as the ‘insertion’, which gives these commercial insertion rubber seals an even higher tensile strength and wear resistance.

Why Use Solid Commercial Insertion Rubber Seals?

Commercial insertion rubber is a popular choice of material for use in the production of commercial insertion rubber seals offering many excellent properties and are often preferred as a low-cost, general-purpose material with high tensile and impact strength, resistance to tear and abrasion and flexibility even at low temperatures.

Solid commercial insertion rubber seals can be used in applications and environments with a temperature range of between 70℃ to -20℃, offering good resistance to water, but are not suitable for applications involving chemicals, ozone, very strong acids, grease, fat oils and hydrocarbons.

This material can often be found used in many general-purpose applications.

    Benefits Of Commercial Insertion Rubber

    • Solid commercial insertion rubber seals have excellent resilience and tensile strength
    • Excellent seal against air, water and diluted mixtures
    • Temperature: -20°C up to +70°C.
    • Commercial insertion rubber seals are sbrasion resistance
    • Excellent impact strength
    • Improved tear resistance

Advantages Of Using Solid Commercial Insertion Rubber Seals

There are many reasons to use Solid commercial insertion as your choice of material for seal production as it offers a number of excellent properties, characteristics and uses.

It’s a flexible material even at low temperatures, demonstrating an operating temperature of -20°C to + 70°C, and is pre-manufactured in a range of thicknesses ready for converting into solid commercial insertion rubber seals. Commercial insertion rubber seals offer a high resistance to tear and abrasion, as well as good resistance to weathering and UV.

Solid commercial insertion rubber washers resist degradation caused by heat, moisture, gas and some acids and alkaline chemicals.

Grades Of Commercial Insertion Rubber Available

Advanced Seals & Gaskets work with many material manufacturers which gives our customers more choice. Commercial rubber is not only available as an SBR grade, but also blended with other polymers to give a cheaper alternative, some of these blends include:

CR/SBR insertion rubber (neoprene) is manufactured using neoprene rubber and SBR compounds to create a material with properties of premium grade material at a reduced cost. This material is generally used for gap sealing and dust seals. Commercial grade neoprene offers resistance to oils, grease, dilute acids and alkalies and are hard wearing enough to be used outdoors.

NBR/SBR insertion (Nitrile) is manufactured using nitrile rubber and SBR compounds to create a material suitable for general purpose gasketing. This commercial grade rubber offers resistance to fuels, petroleum, oils and many solvents making it suitable for use within a variety of industrial applications.

EPDM/SBR insertion rubber is another hybrid made up of 2 different compounds. This particular grade of material offers good resistance to weathering and Ozone deterioration and provides properties such as a high tensile strength and tear resistance. Commercial grade EPDM rubber is typically used for applications such as pipe seals, weather strips and dust seals.
