Neoprene Insertion Washers

Neoprene Insertion Washers

Advanced Seals and Gaskets are leading converters and suppliers of cut components many of which include a diverse range of solid rubber materials including washers made from Solid Neoprene Insertion rubber.  This material is manufactured in roll form usually at 1.4mtrs wide x 10mtrs long and in thicknesses starting at 1.5mm, which are stocked by ASG ready to be converted into various sealing products including washers, supplied with a plain or self-adhesive finish using our in-house laminating service.

Using high quality material and state of the art machinery, our in-house conversion facilities produce a range of neoprene insertion rubber washers, all made to order and produced by using samples or drawings as a template to ensure the final product perfectly fits the application - even offering a small sample batch if required for testing.

Depending on the size and quantity of washers required, our production team will select from our range of atoms, autos, travelling head, kiss cut presses or for very large or thick washers, we can programme our CNC (oscillating knife) to produce the washers in the most efficient way to keep quality high, whilst keeping costs competitive and lead times as low as possible.

What are Solid Neoprene Insertion Rubber Washers?

Solid Neoprene Insertion Rubber washers are a flat ring  comprising of an outer diameter (OD), inner diameter  (ID) and the thickness,  cut from a sheet or roll of material, which is placed between two surfaces creating a level surface, acting as a spacer or between a nut and bolt to spread the pressure when tightened or to create a better fit for fittings such as screws and bolts.

They are also used within equipment and machinery between moving parts for abrasion resistance, vibration dampening, sealing and noise reduction.  Neoprene Insertion rubber is a synthetic rubber, black in colour manufactured to the same specification as standard solid neoprene rubber but is produced with a mesh/fabric reinforcement layer running through the centre referred to as the ‘insertion’, which gives these economy grade washers, an even higher tensile strength and wear resistance, whilst still maintaining  good chemical stability and maintaining its natural flexibility over a wide range of temperatures.

Why use Solid Neoprene Insertion Washers?

Neoprene insertion rubber washers are made from a material, the same as standard solid neoprene, but this grade is manufactured with a mesh/fabric reinforcement layer running through the centre, increasing the strength and durability of the material from which the washers are cut.

This 'insertion' or reinforcement also prevents the material from stretching and increases its wear and tear resistance during conversion and when the washers are used for physically demanding applications.

Neoprene insertion rubber washers have a good resistance to chemicals, UV, ozone, weathering and moderate resistance to oils (animal/vegetable) and inorganic salts.  It has a wide working temperature range of-20°C to +110℃ and is a flexible  material with excellent abrasion properties.

    Benefits of Neoprene Insertion Rubber

    • Popular for internal / external applications
    • Increased durability and tensile strength compared to standard neoprene
    • Impermeable to water and dust
    • Moderate resistance to oil, chemical greases and fats.
    • excellent resistance to ozone, weathering and ageing
    • Can be converted into a range of products

Advantages of Neoprene Insertion Rubber Washers

When looking for rubber washers, those produced using solid Neoprene insertion rubber are popular amongst a range of users and industries due the number of excellent properties they exhibit.

Neoprene insertion rubber washers are used where a more durable, strong, abrasive product is required in an environment where exposure or sealing against extreme weather, water , salts, oil grease, UV, Ozone and gases is necessary.  These solid neoprene insertion rubber washers  maintain flexibility across a wide temperature range  and keep their chemical resistance properties even in very hot or cold environments.

Neoprene insertion rubber can be supplied in full rolls and rolls or  as cut /pressed washers, where they are used as a gap fillers, where they can create an air or moisture tight seal between surfaces, they can also be used as load distribution, reducing  the stress on materials or surfaces when fasteners are driven through them and within  pipework, ensuring a better leak proof join.
