Commercial Insertion Rubber has a mesh/fabric reinforcement layer running through the centre, increasing the durability of the material. This ‘insertion’ or reinforcement also prevents the material from stretching and increases its wear and tear resistance. All of the above can be manufactured in either plain or self-adhesive backed, peel-able liner on one or both sides. Commercial Insertion Rubber has many excellent properties which means this material can be used in most general applications including sealing, expansion joints, flange gaskets for pipes/tanks and Insulation strips.
Key Characteristics of Commercial Insertion Rubber:
- Shore Hardness: 65° ± 5°
- Temperature: -30°C up to +70°C.
- Good resistance to oil, water and chemicals
- Good stretching resistance
- good tensile strength
- low compression set
- high tear properties
- high resistance to abrasion
- degrades when subjected to contact with UV and ozone (not ideal for outdoor use)
