Polyurethane Foam

Polyurethane Foam Pads

ASG offers a wide range of polyurethane foam material types in various densities and colours, all held in stock in block or sheet form, ready to be converted into usable products such as pads, as we carry out all our conversion on-site, we can split down sheets and produce pads from as little as 1mm thick or laminate layers to create a range of non-standard thicknesses of your choice. Regardless of the size and quantity of pads required, one of many presses, bandsaws or CNC machines can be used to manufacture the final product, from one-off samples to multiple batches runs, which depending on size can be supplied as loosely cut parts or kiss-cut on rolls where a high quantity is required or for use on fast-paced assembly lines.

What are Polyurethane Foam Pads?

Polyurethane foam is one of the members of the polymer family, it is a low-density foam from which pads can be cut and used in a number of vibration dampening, sealing and insulating applications. Using in-house machinery ASG can produce pads as squares or rectangles with the option of radius corners, and also as circular or oval-shaped pads or ‘discs’, in a range of thicknesses. Manufacturing pads in-house even means we can supply them in a plain or self-adhesive backed finish and even laminate multiple types of material together to create bespoke and unique variations.

Why use Polyurethane Foam Pads?

Polyurethane foam pads are available in a range of colours, thicknesses and densities, all of which suitable for acoustic and thermal conductive applications. Polyurethane foams vary greatly between types in appearance and the properties they offer, for example, reticulated foams have a very open cell structure for air and water filtration applications, whereas polyester foams have a tighter cell structure which will allow airflow but will filter out dust particles. Polyurethane generally offers good sealing properties against air and dust and is resistant to UV and ozone. Polyurethane pads can also be produced using specialist grades which include conductive, static dissipative and flame-retardant.

Available grades

Advanced Seals & Gaskets work with a number of material manufacturers, giving our customers more choice when looking for polyurethane pads, our most popular grades include:

  • Acoustic
  • egg box
  • HLB
  • Basotech
  • Polyester
  • Recon
  • Retic
  • Polyether

Benefits of Using Polyurethane Foam Pads

Polyurethane foams are available in a wide variety of densities, finishes and compositions, allowing us to manufacture pads for use within various applications and industries. Polyurethane foam pads perform well across a wide temperature range, have resistance to compression and chemicals, offer good vibration and impact absorption and can be manufactured with extra additives to create specialist grades which include conductive, static dissipative and flame-retardant. Some of the popular industries which utilise polyurethane pads include heating & ventilation, automotive, dust sealing and building & construction.
