Acoustic Eggbox panels

What are Acoustic Panels?

Here at ASG, we specialize in converting and supplying a diverse range of non-metallic sheet materials, including Polyurethane foam. One notable variant in our selection is acoustic convoluted panel polyurethane foam sheets, commonly referred to as acoustic panel foam or acoustic crate foam. These panels are crafted in block form and then precisely split into thicknesses to create acoustic panel foam sheets, utilizing a specialized splitter that imparts a convoluted surface with peaks and troughs.

Our acoustic panels are offered in various thicknesses, measured from the base to the tip of the peak. Typically supplied in interlocking pairs, especially useful for packaging applications, these sheets range in thickness from 25mm to 50mm. The standard sheet size is 2 meters by 1.2 meters, but we also accommodate custom orders for bespoke sizes.

For added versatility, we provide acoustic panel foam in full sheets or can convert them into various products, such as pads and gaskets, using our state-of-the-art presses, bandsaws, or CNC machines. The finishing touches on our acoustic panels come in a variety of options, including different coatings applied through our in-house adhesive and laminating facilities. Additionally, these sheets can be laminated to other materials, creating composite sheets, or adorned with one of our many foils or self-adhesives to meet specific requirements.

What are Acoustic Panels?

Acoustic convoluted panel polyurethane foam is an open-cell polyurethane product, engineered to form a surface characterized by continuous peaks and troughs. Infused with flame retardant additives, this material achieves a class ‘O’ non-flammable rating, boasting excellent sound-absorbing properties.

our acoustic panels are intricately split to harness their convoluted finish. This design enhances the surface area, effectively reducing echo and reverberation within enclosures and studios, making them ideal for sound absorption applications.

The versatility of our acoustic panel foam sheets extends to their conversion into a variety of products. Alternatively, customers can opt for full sheets, enabling them to cut their own parts as needed.

Acoustic panels are designed to absorb sound waves and reduce reverberation in a space. This helps in controlling background noise, preventing sound from bouncing off hard surfaces and creating echoes. This is particularly beneficial in spaces where clarity of speech or music is important.

In environments such as conference rooms, auditoriums, or classrooms, acoustic panels can enhance speech intelligibility by minimizing the impact of ambient noise and reverberation. This is crucial for effective communication.

Acoustic panels can improve the quality of music in spaces like recording studios, home theaters, and music rooms. By reducing unwanted echoes and background noise, they contribute to a more accurate and pleasant listening experience.

In offices or meeting rooms, acoustic panels can help maintain privacy by preventing sound from traveling between spaces. This is particularly important for confidential discussions and maintaining a focused work environment.

Excessive noise can contribute to stress and fatigue. Acoustic panels create a more comfortable and quiet environment, which can positively impact the well-being and productivity of individuals in a space.

Some industries and spaces are subject to regulations regarding noise levels. Acoustic panels can assist in meeting these standards and avoiding potential legal issues.

Why use Acoustic Panels?

Acoustic panel foam sheets, also known as convoluted acoustic foam sheets or acoustic crate foam, enjoy widespread popularity for various applications. They are commonly used in packaging, particularly as case inserts, and are equally valued for sound control in spaces such as cinemas, music studios, or machinery enclosures.

Characterized by its soft texture, acoustic panel foam is easily cut and exhibits excellent adhesive retention, making it suitable for adhering to walls and ceilings. Additionally, it boasts a class ‘O’ flammability performance, ensuring its safety for use in both building and automotive applications.

Advantages of Using Acoustic Panels

Acoustic panel foam sheets present a range of benefits and applications, crafted from an open-cell material that is soft, flexible, and incorporates flame retardant additives, adhering to UL94 HF1 standards.

These acoustic panel PU foam sheets excel in sound absorption, thanks to their textured surface profile, creating an expanded surface area that efficiently disperses waves compared to flat-surfaced alternatives.

Beyond sound control, our acoustic panel foams serve as effective packaging or case inserts for securely transporting irregularly shaped or delicate items. The convoluted foam's interlocking layers provide cushioning, abrasion resistance, and impact protection.

Acoustic convoluted panel polyurethane foam finds applications in HVAC systems, machinery enclosures, compressors or generators, sound insulation panels, as well as in automotive and marine settings. Cutting acoustic convoluted panel foam is a straightforward process using scissors, knives, or press tools.
