Viton Rubber Strip

Here at Advanced Seals & Gaskets, we manufacture 1000’s high-quality rubber strips, including those manufactured from Viton rubber, sometimes referred to as sealing strip, gasket strip or isolation strip.    Viton rubber strips are all manufactured by our highly skilled workforce using state of the art machinery, following our customer's samples or drawings.

We can produce made to measure Viton rubber strips using our band saws, strippers, log cutters and even presses depending upon the size and quantity required. In-house production allows us to closely oversee the whole production process to ensure that we consistently produce high quality, competitively priced strips.

Our Viton rubber strips are cut from rolls or sheets, which are manufactured in a range of standard thicknesses starting at just 0.5mm, these can be supplied coated with self-adhesive backing or laminated to other materials, which can then be cut into strips from 4mm wide and in a choice of pre-cut lengths or in coils in lengths of up to 10meters long.

What are Viton Rubber Strips?

Rubber strips are often purchased for use in the same way as a gasket, whereby they are used to create a seal between uneven surfaces and fill irregularities.  Viton rubber is just one of many solid rubber materials on offer, from which we are able to produce strips, available in various grades, each formulated to meet the needs of different applications.

Viton rubber strips are cut from sheets or rolls in thicknesses ranging from 0.5mm up to 50mm, in widths starting from 4mm and supplied in pre-cut shorter pieces or in rolls up to 10meters long in a plain or self-adhesive finish.

ASG produces strips in many materials such as neoprene, EPDM, silicone, rubber, Plastazote, Polyethylene, Polyester, Nitrile and many more. We produce the strips in our newly renovated facilities using the best machinery in material stripping. As the strips are produced house we are able to oversee the entire process and ensure that our standards are maintained and the strips are produced to our customers’ requirements such as the length, width and thickness. We also offer self-adhesive backed strips, we add the self-adhesive coating in house to either one or both sides.

    Why use Viton Rubber Strips?

Customers use Viton rubber strips for many reasons, and it is often a go-to material for applications requiring a high-performance product to meet the demands that cannot be achieved using other polymers such as EPDM, Nitrile or Neoprene.

Viton rubber strips can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -20° to 275°C and can maintain their physical and mechanical properties without breaking down even when used with water, acids, petrol, chemicals and oil due to their excellent resistance.

Viton rubber strips are a popular choice of material for use within the automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, and chemical industries - an FDA approved grade is also available for food and drink processing industries.

    Different Grades

Advanced Seals & Gaskets work with a network of material suppliers and manufacturers, meaning we can offer Viton rubber strips in additional grades, the most popular of which are detailed below:

Viton Rubber-Type B - has very similar properties and resistances to Type A, but has a greater fluorine content, which gives it better resistance to fluids and sulfur dioxide, better flexibility after heat exposure and a temperature range of -30°C up to +300°C. Type B is generally used in the most demanding applications and industries such as chemical and power generation.

Viton FDA grades are available in blue or white options.  This grade is suitable for use for food or pharmaceutical production even at high temperatures.  FDA grade Viton rubber is extremely resistant to animal fats, oils, acids, chemicals and petroleum.

    Benefits of Viton Rubber Strips

    • Environmental resistance (Ozone, weathering, UV)
    • High Chemical Resistance
    • Weather Resistant
    • Wide Temperature Range
    • Resistance to acid, oil and petroleum-based fluids
    • Withstand Challenging Environments

The Advantages of Using Viton Rubber Strips

There are many advantages to using Viton rubber strips as the material is high performance, versatile and durable, able to withstand high temperatures and chemical resistant  (even at high temperatures) and will not degrade as easily as other elastomers over time when in contact with fluids such as oil, acids, ozone or UV.

Other grades of Viton rubber are available to order for use in a range of specific industries, details of which can be made available upon request.  Viton rubber strips are available in a range of pre-manufactured thicknesses and the high resistance and durability of Viton rubber mean the pads are long-lasting and can be easily cut into the desired profile without the risk of tearing or stretching the material.
