Polyethylene Foam

Polyethylene Foam Sheet

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd are proud to be one of the UK’s leading suppliers of polyethylene foam sheets, which we stock in a range of densities, grades, colours and thicknesses. Most of our polyethylene foam sheets are converted from blocks using our state of the art splitting machines, meaning we can supply neoprene sponge sheets in thicknesses starting at as little as just 1mm, in a standard 2meter x 1meter sheet size. Our onsite laminating service not only allows us to laminate layers of polyethylene sheets to create greater depths but also enables us to supply polyethylene foam sheets with a range of self-adhesives, foils and even layers of other materials.

What are Polyethylene Foam Sheets?

Polyethylene foam sheets are manufactured from a high quality, lightweight closed-cell material. Polyethylene is a great material with a number of resistances and insulation properties as well as being available in a variety of grades, densities, colours. Polyethylene is often taken in sheet form as they give the customer and end-user the flexibility to be able to cut their own strips, gaskets, washers, etc out as and when they are required.

Why use Polyethylene Foam Sheets?

Polyethylene foam sheets are manufactured in a range of grades and densities offering various properties for use in different applications. Polyethylene foam sheets have a low compression set, resistance to water, oils, chemicals and weather as well as being an excellent thermal insulation material. Being a closed-cell material, it has good tear resistance and doesn’t support mold or fungus growth. Variants of polyethylene foam include FDA grades for use with food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications, Flame Retardant and anti-static.

Different Grades

Having a network of manufacturers and suppliers, allows ASG to offer a full range of polyethylene materials, many of which are readily available from stock for a quick turnaround. Below is just a selection of some of our popular polyethylene sheets we can offer:

  • Alveo
  • Anti-static
  • Ethafoam
  • Eva foam
  • Flame retardant
  • Chemically cross-linked
  • Plastazote
  • Stratocell

Benefits of Polyethylene Foam Sheets

Using polyethylene foam sheets offers a huge number of benefits, it’s a non-toxic, high quality, lightweight material, which has good water, ozone, UV, weathering, grease and chemical resistance. Polyethylene has a wide operating temperature range, with higher temperature and flame retardant variants also available. Due to the number of grades on offer, polyethylene foam can be found in most applications where weather-resistant, acoustic and thermal insulation and tight sealing is required.
